Practicum Intern - September 2024

Our Ideal Intern:
-
Mature candidates with at least 2 years of experience working or volunteering in mental health or related field are preferred
-
Willing and able to provide more than the minimum requirements for their degree to contribute to the team and help support our busy practice

Will ask for help when they need it, and are passionate about learning

Have a thorough knowledge of, and abide by, all the ethical standards and guidelines as per the CRPO/Yorkville University

Have strong verbal and written communication skills

Interest in working on blogs and posts for our website/social media pages

Comfortable with working on their practicum within a completely virtual setting

Are client-centred, and tailor their approaches to meet the needs of their clients

Candidates should have experience as a client in the therapeutic process and ideally are engaged in working on themselves within a therapeutic relationship.
Bonus if You:

Are currently in the process of attaining their Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) designation with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)

Have or are working towards a certification/training in a particular population/presenting issue or modality (i.e., sex therapy or DBT)

Have engaged in or have prior experience in a personal therapeutic relationship as a client

Associate Psychotherapist
Independent Contractor Role
(In-Person - Ottawa)
We Require:
-
Masters degree in Counselling Psychology/Psychotherapy/Social Work and registration with CRPO (Full or Qualifying) or OCSWSSW (RSW).

Available to work: A minimum of 5 direct client hours per day for 3 shifts per week (approximately 15 hours/week) with option for more (min 10 hours in-person in Ottawa)

Professional and ethical practice following all CRPO or OCSWSSW requirements

Maintenance of own client files and required documentation (e.g., notes) following the clinic procedures

Management of schedule and client communication

Able to commit to 1 hour per month for a team meeting

Proof of Liability Insurance as required by College
